Paul Fromm tells the story of the Italian and Canadian governments' brutalization of Michael Seifert – a pious, gentle old man falsely accused of being the "Beast of Bolzano".
After his death (which was caused by mistreatment), Mr. Seifert was denied a memorial service or any public prayers in the very chapel at which he attended Mass for four decades – and attended daily after his retirement.
