Joe Scarborough broke that unwritten law on his show today. He pointed out the good news, for the rational as versus the Keynesians, that Americans' savings rate has gone to 5% from zero, and hoped that while "we might never match the Chinese rate of 40%, we should aspire to the German rate of 10%." A shocked and horrified Mark Halperin said: "Bill Clinton got in trouble for praising the German health care system, and now you praise the German savings rate!"
